After a few hours I feel smarter already Two years ago I purchased my first DSLR camera to take pictures as a hobby. Prior to that I’ve always used a simple point-and-shoot camera on auto settings only. So, I’m writing this review as a novice. For those who don’t like long drawn our reviews I love this book. It has helped me more than anything I’ve read so far.I’m still learning how to use my Canon Rebel and know nothing about processing. I’ve been using a free program called “PhotoScape” to crop, straighten, and make very slight adjustments to my photos. There are additional features available in this program that I don’t understand. The same goes for “Gimp” which I have not yet been able to grasp at all.Usually with some help from tutorials I can find my way around software programs. But I’ve found that when it comes to post processing software, for me, this is not the case. I want to understand it and use it but knowing nothing about layers, filters, makes it all very overwhelming…
